The wind

Have you ever really listened to the wind?

We were getting some bad weather on Saturday and with it was a full day and night of high winds. I am not talking a little wind I am talking the kind you can not hear someone talk that is next to you. The kind that can make you lose your balance. This kind of wind can give you an earache.

The wind whirling like this can be quite scary you start hearing things that you do not know what are in the night It was quite bad and I decided to figure out what the noises were. Our shutters on our house were moving and banging up against the brick. The back porch screen door was banging back and forth while a tree branch was rubbing up against the front of the house on the eaves.

The wind chimes were chiming their hearts out I enjoyed the sound of them over the roar of the wind. It was such a soothing sound in the night.

We needed some rain, but all we got was wind. Someone else got our rain.

Is winds purpose to blow the leaves off the trees, and the tiny branches? Maybe it’s to remove the dust that settles on everything throughout time. It could be that the purpose of wind is to make us stop and listen to what is around us.

The howling of the wind in the dark of the night can keep just about anyone awake. Our imaginations run wild even as adults.
