My husband would buy the Brooklyn Bridge…

Did you ever hear the expression, “You can sell him the Brooklyn Bridge.”?

Well that’s my husband. If someone called the house and convinced him that he would make money on a crazy deal, he’d consider it. If someone offered him a great deal on a great unbelievable buy, he’d buy it.

We have fights over stupidity! It gets to a point where I can’t stand the man!!!! How can anyone be that dense? It sounds mean and I know it…but I do not have patience for ‘stupid’.

There were times he actually did buy things and tell me that I’m nuts and he was going to make a lot of money on it. Nothing would come of it, no one would buy it, and into storage it went…sigh.

Just today he ran into me with a great deal on cell phone services. It was just as stupid as the deals he’s found earlier in life. He hears an ad on TV and boing…he wants it. Is this an over grown child? Is he a man-child?

Our Grandsons LOVE him. No wonder…he’s at their level, and they can play with them and have fun just as though he were one of the kids…sigh.

There is NO happy medium in life for me. My first husband was an over achiever…a control freak… a go-getter who had no idea when to quit. My second husband is the exact opposite… a calm, fun loving man who could care less whether or not the sun rises or sets.

Hmmmm….never a dull moment. I NEED a dull moment. LOL!

  1. What are some of the things he has bought in the past? We are looking into changing our cell phone service. We have been with Verizon for many years, but the service has gone downhill this last year.I noticed in the AARP magazine that comes monthly they are advertising one that might be good, but I have not checked it out yet. It’s all those fine details we have to check out to make sure we’re not getting a bad deal after all. We pay $130 a month for 2 smart phones but we did away with our home phone a few years ago because it was $60.00 a month and the only people who called it were trying to sale something.

    1. We have T-Mobil and I hate it. It’s very expensive and not worth it. We tried to switch but they have a lock on the phone so that we can’t right now. They sell you the phone and make sure you can’t switch over, but we are going to find out how.

My husband has bought many stupid things,. I can’t even remember half of them. Old guitars, giant old speakers, I can go on and on. LOL
